I went out trying to cut some small sweetgums and the thing wouldn't really make any kind of horiz. cut. the chain moved fine but not cutting. i had to really force it through the wood; normally it pulls itself through. when the bar was in vert. position, it cut like a champ.Cutting speed is good. With a Carlton semi chisel chain it cut the small stuff like a laser. I made a couple cuts through 14" fir and it pulled through it fine. There are nice saws (from Silky and probably others) that are good for 20' worth of reach that, I would think, would cut a lot faster than a chainsaw chain tied to a rope. Yeah, an aerial boom truck would be ideal but I would like to avoid the $600 / day rental.. Lisa edelstein toples
A reliable source informed me Klotz Original Techniplate is the oil used in 50 fuel, or whatever they're calling theses days. I ran R50 for two years without any real issues, it's great stuff. Right now I'm trying out K2 and so far so good. K2 and R50 are both full Ester syn oils. 927 is a castor syn blend, similar to Klotz Super Techniplate.That saw was last produced around 2008 and represents the last actual pro model saw that Poulan ever produced. It is 54cc and far superior to anything else built in that class such as MS290 and 455 Rancher. It has split cases, adjustable oiler, and very solid construction.
